Are you an NHS or a private practice?
BDS Dental is a fully private practice. We are GDC-registered and CQC-regulated, and we do not offer NHS treatment.
How much is a first appointment?
A new patient examination is £160 for an adult and £105 for under-16s. Every fee at the practice is listed on our dental fees page.
Do I need to see a dentist before I can see the hygienist?
No. We offer direct access, which means you can book a hygienist appointment without a dentist referral. A standard hygienist appointment is £126.
Are you taking new patients?
Yes. Our new patients page explains what happens at a first visit, and you can book online or call the practice on 020 8458 1611.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We welcome children as patients and believe that establishing good dental habits early makes a significant difference to long-term oral health. Our team has considerable experience in putting nervous or apprehensive young patients at ease.
I am nervous about going to the dentist. Can you help?
Yes, and it is something the practice takes seriously rather than treats as an afterthought. Where only a small amount of decay needs removing we can sometimes use air abrasion rather than drilling, and our approach to extractions for anxious patients is described on the site.
Do you have a specialist orthodontist?
Yes. Dr Farnaz Motamedi is our in-house specialist orthodontist. An adult consultation with her is £176. We also have an in-house endodontist for root canal treatment.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call the practice on 020 8458 1611 as soon as you can. We make every effort to accommodate urgent appointments. If you need urgent advice when we are closed, NHS 111 can help you find urgent dental care.

Where are you, and is there parking?
We are at 1005a Finchley Road, Golders Green, London NW11 7HB — a short walk from Golders Green tube station on the Northern Line. The 82, 102 and 460 bus routes stop close to the practice, and there is parking available at the practice.
What are your opening hours?
Monday 9am - 5.30pm, Tuesday 9am - 5.30pm, Wednesday 9am - 5.30pm, Thursday 9am - 5.30pm, Friday 9am - 1pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
